Madoka Okuda is a photo-based artist born in Osaka, Japan, and currently based in New York. Originally trained in fashion design and cultural localization, Okuda came to photography as a self-taught artist. Her practice centers on self-portraiture and domestic interiors, exploring female interiority, sexuality, memory, and the emotional and psychological dimensions of home. Drawing from experiences of repeated displacement, her photographs examine how personal histories remain embedded within the body and continue to shape the spaces we inhabit.
